Park Day

Picture in your mind the opening scenes of finding Nemo when Marlin is taking Nemo to his first day of school. Only then you will understand what Park Day is like.

All of us wake up prepared for the time we will spend at the park. Todays schedule will be different from the rest as park time may be right in the middle of our little ones nap time, eat time, poop time (the list goes on and on) but we stick it out and head to the park if only to have an hour, if you can make it that long, of fellowship with friends.

After we pack up practically the whole baby room (sunscreen, hats, change of clothes, blankets, water, hooter hider, diapers, spit rags, sweatshirt if its cold, shorts if its hot, a few toys for the kiddos to play with, the camera to capture the oh so cute moments and of course the baby) we are ready to hit the road. Some of our kids enjoy the car rides and may even fall asleep on the way there. For a select few the car ride consists of music, shhh'ing, and of course the little one crying. Even though the park may only be 1-5 miles away the riverside traffic makes this journey triple that in time making for an eventful drive.

Once we arrive at the park and unpack all our gear we hope for the best with our little kiddos mood. (maybe this is just me)

For those of us with little babies that can only crawl at the least our time consists of sitting on the blanket playing with toys, goo'ing and gaahh'ing over the babes and preventing any injuries from falls and tumbles that may occur.

Now back to finding Nemo. Do you remember the scene where Nemo is being showed the school and Marlin tells him to go play with the little baby fish? The little baby fish are jumping on the bouncy sea things all happy then one falls off and lets off a big cry? That would be us.

Another part of park day is watching the Moms with older kiddos get an extreme workout. (Emily Rickard, Laura Moore and Janelle Miesel) These lovely ladies have the privilege to chase around TWO little ones. As I sit on my plush green polka dot blanket in the shade they are on duty running around to every toy on the park. They seriously rock!

Again, back to finding Nemo. These moms would be similar to the Mom's in finding Nemo that are telling their younger fish to stay out of Mr.Johanson's yard (the sting ray).

Like I said in my previous post I am horrible at explaining things so if you don't understand any of the comparisons I am making from park day to Finding Nemo then I suggest you go watch the first 10 minutes of the movie then return and read my post again:)

Park day really is one of the highlights of my week. Even though it is hard to get out the door and to the park I enjoy the time I get to spend with my friends. I feel extremely blessed that I am surrounded by such awesome Moms!

So here is to you park day. You revive me and wear me out all at one time!
