Recommendations

I love recommendations. I don't always agree, like the one time the lady at target found out Calvin was teething and recommended that I give him a chicken bone to chew on, but I enjoy listening. I like listening to what everyone has to say because at the root of it people give recommendations because they want to help you or want you to have the same great experience they had. Right? Maybe I like to think the best of everyone but this is my main reason for why I love to listen to what other people have to say.

David LOVES recommending things. I actually think he does it so much it could be counted as a hobby of his. When David enjoys something he cannot hold it in, he has to let people know how great it is. The other day we were at Costco and of course we were getting as many great samples as possible. Every sample that Dave took and liked he would freak out, close his eyes and bounce up and down. This was followed by the loudest possible mmmmmm or oooooohhhh noise he could make just so everyone knew how great it was. When Dave does find something that he loves such as; Its Its, Ticket to Ride, Harry Potter, Dewars, Sequoia, Inception, or anything Apple related, he will suggest it like there is no tomorrow. Really, he would make a great salesman!

All this recommending got me to thinking. Whats something I would I recommend and that I love so much I would jump up and down in public and shout about it's excellencies? after much brainstorming these are the top 3 things I would recommend.

1. Pesto. I know how lame to start off with pesto right? But seriously my world just got opened up to the greatness of pesto about a month ago and since then I have been faithful to eat a pesto sandwich almost every day. Its goodness is unsurpassable and it turns any ordinary sandwich into a de-lish sandwich. My favorite combo is Sourdough Bread, mozzarella cheese, two slices of tomato, turkey and pesto on each side. MMMMMMmmmm! So good!

2. Hillary Leonard's blog, Because My Life is Fascinating. I'm not recommending this blog because the author happens to by my best friend. I am recommending this blog because:
1. Its hilarious.
2. It's real and honest
3. It's hilarious
4. It's witty
5. She has cute kids and is pretty cute herself
6. She says all the things you think but never say yourself
7. She never makes her readers feel inadequate or not good enough. You know some blogs you read and you are like, "OH MY WORD, stop being perfect! Not that she is not perfect, she just doesn't make her readers feel that way. I am rambling aren't I? I told you I am bad at explaining things.
8. She has great recommendations on her blog.
9. She is thrifty and crafty
10. She is amazing!
There I gave you ten great reasons why you should read her blog! So do it;)

3. Children books by Sandra Boynton. For all you moms, aunts, uncles, heck if you know a kid you should get these books. They are my favorite! Some kids books are so boring but I feel like her books are actually pretty entertaining. I read, Hey Wake Up, to Calvin every morning and my favorite line is:
"Shout out loud, "GOOD MORNING, SUN! HAPPY MORNING, EVERYONE!" (I really shout and he loves it)
The other book of hers that I really like is called, Perfect Piggies, and if you go online there is a song that actually goes with the book. My favorite line from that book is:
"And Look at these ears, so floppy and fine, you have to admit it- We're fabulous swine!"

I seriously can't believe there are not more things that I can recommend but that is really it, at least for now. I am sure as soon as I post this 10 more things will come to mind. I hope if you try these recommendations that they brighten your day as much as they do mine:)

Here is a picture of my sweet boy. I recommend staring at his precious face whenever you need to smile:)
